DIY How to make a biscuit Christmas tree (guest post by the Culinary Design Group)

Let's make an edible Christmas tree!

Let's start with making biscuits in a shape of a star with a hole in the middle. The more biscuits you make the higher your Christmas tree is going to be! You will need 20 - 30 stars. Print stars templates if you do not have the star cookie cutters. You can download them here.
Use your favorite recipe for the biscuits. They need to be rather dense, so they can hold the shape well. (Scroll down for a recipe that would work).
We prepared thick biscuits with cacao and thing white biscuits.
1. Roll the dough and cut out stars:
2. Use a round handle o make small holes in the middle of each star. Do not make a hole for the top star.
3. Bake your biscuits and string them on a bamboo skewer. The Christmas tree is stable, you do not need to secure it.
4. Place the larger stars at the bottom, then the smaller stars. Alternating dark and light stars.
5. Sprinkle your tree with powdered sugar.
6. Done! We hope your friends and family are going to love it!

I asked Anna, who has shared a few great recipes in my blog already, what recipe would work well for the project. She was kind enough to share a simple recipe that would work.
You will need:
Wheat flour: 2 cups
1 Chicken egg
Margarine (or butter), room temperature: 125 g (4,5 oz)
Sugar: ½ cup
Baking powder: ½ tsp
1. Beat up the margarine with the sugar, add the egg and mix everything well. Sift the flour together with the baking powder, add them to your mixture and knead the dough.
2. Wrap the dough with plastic wrap and put away in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
3. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Lay the tray with a piece of baking paper.
4. Roll the dough and cut out the stars. Make the holes in the stars. Note that the holes will get smaller after baking.
5. Bake until golden brown color. It should take about 15-18 minutes depending on the power of your oven.
