Evening necklace

Friday, March 30, 2012

This simple-looking necklace was not a simple task. I had to make some "inventions" and hope that an experiment would work. I really love the result. It looks fabulous on a neck. "Peacock" pearls, dark copper and black Swarovski crystals are designed to be used together in the same jewellery pieces! At least, this is what I believe in :)

- Should I keep it for myself? - I asked my husband.
- You may keep it if nobody buys it, - he answered.

Good luck to me with that... :)

The necklace is available at Just Jewellery

Sea Bottom pendants

Sunday, March 25, 2012

I keep working on my favourite theme lately. I am afraid I went a little bit too wild with my "sea bottom" fantasy.

Aragonite in the first pendant was really 3-dimentional and "required" 3D elements around it. Well... if it required them, it got them... What else can I say? :)

When I say that I've made "too" 3D pendant, people ask: "What do you mean?" Though, when they see it, they know exactly what it means :)

The second pendant is made with a slice of rough smokey quartz crystals. This pendant is not as wild as the first one, but wild enough :)

I like the shape, though. The little starfish at the bottom looks like a fancy little bow to me. As soon as I got that impression while playing with the elements of the unfinished pendant, I decided to keep it.

They are available in my Etsy store.

Upd.: Aragonite pendant is sold. Contact me by e-mail to order a pendant with aragonite.

Eva's Bee Earrings

Tuesday, March 20, 2012

These earrings I made for one lovely lady. However, they turned out to be very cute and they looked like tiny toys... I've decided to keep them!

Just joking, Eva, they are yours! :)

Silver peacock feather necklace with sugilite

Sunday, March 18, 2012

I keep experimenting with the peacock feather images in jewellery. This was the first try. I keep checking other artists' works (pictures, necklaces, earrings) to make sure that I come up with a design that is not out there yet. Being an artist I love to be able to create something new and unique.

I love working with metal, but wax carving gives me an opportunity to make 3D objects. I felt that technique was something I would like to use for the feather project.

It is a nice and heavy necklace for a special occasion. The stone I put with it is an African sugilite. A few Swarovski crystals give an additional bling to it... not too much, so they would not take attention away from the centre piece.

The necklace is available at Just Jewellery

P.S. I think I am getting obsessed with the peacock feathers... Two more stones and two more sketches are ready to become two more necklaces made with different techniques. One will be copper and one will be silver... maybe... :)

P.P.S. Hm.... I think... more than two necklaces are coming... I have a few great stones that seem to be perfect for the peacock feathers... And two more necklaces are not enough to satisfy the obsession anyway... :)

Beaded Jewellery Show in Kiev 2012

Wednesday, March 7, 2012

My dear friends did it again! They went to the capital of Ukraine (Kiev) to jury a fabulous bead show. They took their own work there too, of course. I think, the organizers of the show have no choice, but take them as a jury, or they would have to give these girls the first prizes every year! :)

Personally, I have no idea how to wear something like this, but I sure enjoy this eye candy a lot!

Pictures are thanks to Rina Stepnaya

Imperial Jasper

Monday, March 5, 2012

It was a long time since I cut any stones myself. The last one was at school for this project, actually. I usually say that I do not have time for everything. If I start cutting stones, I will have no time for setting them. I had to make an exception for this gorgeous imperial jasper or I would not have it.

I hope I will have some time next week.. or next after next week... to make the "Sea Bottom Pendants" with it.
