Gold by itself is yellow. It is alloyed with other metals to achieve other colors. 18k gold contains 25% copper (rose gold). 14k and 18k gold alloys with silver alone appear greenish-yellow (green gold). White gold alloys can be made with palladium, nickel and other white metals.
