The same thing amazes me too! Well, it is lost wax casting... that was carved, I assume, in actual bees wax. I personally would not want to carve something like this in bees wax :) And I cannot even imagine how it was polished...

Totally agree, the workmanshhip is in a league of its own. The amount of detail is phenomenal and the technical expertise is superb.
With the modern materials it would be embarrassing to at least not match this quality... I might challenge myself one day!
