I love the effect of the fused glass. My grandparents had tons of it! Used to be called 'carnival glass' it was everywhere in the 20s, 30s. And the wooden bowl just screams out to be handled!

That is an interesting name for the colored glass! However, if it was everywhere... I cannot imagine it was fused glass. Maybe it was colored some other way, but not made by fusing. That is a labor intensive and expensive technique. The pieces of actual colored glass are being arranged in a mold and then they go into a kiln where they get softened enough to resemble the shape of the mold. If the pattern is geometric, it means that the pieces were pre-cut first into a desired shape.
