Wear unusual jewelry with...

Friday, February 28, 2014

I have made this pendant awhile ago. Many people liked, many tried it on... I still have it for sale in my etsy store... If I had a total freedom on what to buy to wear it with, this is how I would wear it :)

Wooden clock by Mike Kozikowski

Anything pierced instantly catches my attention! Wood or metal... Does not matter... I equally adore either material when the work is beautiful. This fantastic clock could not escape my attention... of course... :)  So, it is going straight to my Virtual Wish List together with other pierced wooden objects: jewellery box and the smaller clock.

Eco-project for home decoration by VaLon Frandsen

Tuesday, February 25, 2014

(VaLon is my first guest blogger. She has a wonderful creative eco-blog. I am happy that she agreed to write a guest post for me. Her eco-ideas are very inspiring!)

Hey all, I am super excited to be writing a guest post over here! I love to blog, and when we can get the chance to do it and meet new people, I am all for it!

Over at my blog, Things I Green and Do Not Green, I had a little series of posts about short Eco-Tips. Just simple one liners. One of mine was "eco-tip: Do not throw it away, create something." And today I would like to share something that I have done to do that.

Years ago, my family made some window well covers out of wood and plexiglass. They were durable little creatures, however, eventually they broke. We had them in pieces over the window wells for quite some time, and then I decided to do something about them.

I took the wood and created some artwork to hang on the wall. It for actually for a school project, and I later made another out of new wood instead of reclaimed wood, but I always liked this one better. I took the wood, cut it to size, and arranged it in a lovely fashion. I really liked it and when cleaning out my school things couldn't part with it.

It is now for sale, if you would like to buy it. Or, you could just view it on your screen. Or, you could even make one for yourself, with a little hard work and some reclaimed wood, it would be great.

Just remember, that if you have something you think about throwing away, look at it again and see what you can make out of it, create something new.

Flying Wood Ducks by Jeff Moore

Thursday, February 20, 2014

I really wish I could afford this sculpture! I have not seen anything like this before. I think they are just fantastic! (Found them in Etsy) Actually, all Jeff's works are fantastic! If you feel like looking at the beautiful bird sculptures, visit the FowlPlayStudiosInc and enjoy!

Prudent Man Plume Agate

Today is Thursday, when I usually show my gem treasures :) This is Prudent Man Plume Agate (from Alder Creek Mining District, Idaho) that I bought in Etsy.

I fell in love with it when I saw it. I thought any Prudent Man Plume agate would look great to me... but that was not the case at all :) I am very picky! I like this stone as it is perfect in my eyes... the colors together with the shape. I might not like other colors... I might not like another shape. It is this stone that speaks to me...

One day I will make something nice with it... and then let it go... :)

DIY - Spiral Flower

Wednesday, February 19, 2014

This is another video tutorial from Irina Astratenko - magically beautiful Spiral Flower.
There is English language instruction in the video as usual.
(And I really have to fight myself not to grab a crochet and start making this flower!)

Treasuries for the "Virgin"

Tuesday, February 18, 2014

When I semi-complained that our fantastic project "Virgin" kept getting not-so-great treasuries, my friends Irina and Irina :) made these absolutely fantastic treasuries! I've decided to save them. They are just eye candies! Thank you, Irina and Irina! :)

Maple Leaves Earrings

This is a new item in my Etsy store.

Wooden Unique Art by Vladimir Voloshin

Monday, February 17, 2014

I love unusual birdhouses! I've found a few before... those ones, that you should not give to the birds :) (one, two). Here is one more! It will work as a great home decoration object, but... again, do not give it to the birds :)

This black boulder opal from Australia is one of my Ebay finds. A year ago I was on a hunt for the gems in Ebay and Etsy. That was a fun time!

DIY - Dragon scale crochet video instruction by Irina Astratenko

Wednesday, February 12, 2014

Today is Wednesday, that is my day when I publish a DIY!  I LOVE Crocodile Crochet pattern! If you go, lets' say, to the Etsy's most expensive items for sale, you will see why. Tops, scarves, hand warmers... I wish I had time to crochet something with this pattern, but I might end up just buying an item that was already made... However, here is Irina's video (do not worry, the video explains everything in two languages: English and Russian) and if you love to crochet, or would love to learn to, go for it!

Backyard Retreat by Cronise Landscape and Design

Tuesday, February 11, 2014

Just love the design of this Bristol Shire Cottage! We do have a pretty large back yard.I could definitely see it there :)  (I do not think I will ever see it there, but I am allowed to wish, am I not? :)

One of my treasures goes for sale! :)

Sunday, February 9, 2014

This tint of gray seems to be in Etsy treasuries' trend. Everybody makes treasuries with the gray-bluish pictures. Well, if it helps the exposure... why not? However, if you are interested in real colours... I have them too :)

This Maple Leaf necklace is made of sterling silver. The front side of the top (the smaller) leaf is gilded with a thick 24k gold leaf with the keum-boo technique. The leaves are double-sided.

The pendant is for sale at my Etsy shop.

Gift Guide

Friday, February 7, 2014

To see the actual collection of items with all the working links to the items, visit the Guide page >>>

Next Gift Guide is scheduled for next Friday! :)

DIY - Crocheted Flower Brooch

Wednesday, February 5, 2014

I published a DIY tutorial from Irina once before. She has more many of them in her fabulous blog, that is in Russian. However, her video tutorials have some helpful text in English too, so an English-speaking handmader can follow them.

I think this flower brooch is fantastic, so I would like to share it with those who can crochet. Just follow this link where you will find the video tutorial for it and enjoy!

I will follow Irina's blog and share more incredible tutorials here!

Pendant lamp by Amichai Oron

Saturday, February 1, 2014

My favourite scrollwork was done with a laser to create this lamp out of a sheet of metal. Needless to say that I like it and would not mind to have one or two :)
